I have to say I am impressed with the view of the ship itself. The angle is striking and the sharpness and detail is great. The exposure has been nicely calculated and we can see detail in the highlights and the shadows. The only thing against this, and it could well have been out of control of the photographer but I feel it was taken too late in the day. A bit earlier and there could have been a rich deep blue in the sky that would have contrasted perfectly with the ship. Having said that, this is a difficult subject and the ship detail is spot on for me. |

First of all well done on securing a wonderful seat and the lighting people were smiling on you as well. There is much to enjoy here from the excellent lead in created by the wing which draws our eyes in towards the great sky. |

The subdued lighting here has really emphasised these fungi with detail throughout the contrast range. It could have been very easy to lose the highlights in the caps but it is still there. It appears a wide aperture has been used which has isolated the group well but I am a little distracted by the large areas of out of focus detail in front of them. Still a nice autumn feel to this. |

This has been well seen and the composition is nicely arranged. I like how the branches create a lead in that takes us into the image and to the leaves. The lighting and colouring all adds to the effect. The greens in particular are very vivid and I enjoy the carpet of leaves too. |

This is certainly an image that grabs your attention! The use of monochrome is certainly the correct route for this and it has been very well presented. The tones, sharpness and detail are very clean and clear. My only extremely minor comment would be to increase the exposure of the subjects right eye. I think if both eyes were the same exposure it would balance out better and be even more striking. Other than that I enjoy this topical image very much. |

These are no doubt some beautiful creatures and they have been taken in great surroundings. I imagine this was a zoo type environment but there is nothing in the image to show that such as wire mesh etc so well done. Having two subjects, one in each half of an image does divide our attention which is often an issue with even number subjects and this does suffer from that. The front cat is also a little soft compared to his/her compatriot. Havng said that there is no escaping those wonderful stares and well done with retaining all of the detail throughout the contrast range. |

This ibis is certainly very scarlet indeed. The dark background and the spot on focussing concentrating on the eye works very well indeed. This image is basically all about the colour and I wonder if a twaek back on the saturation would have revealed more details in the feathers? Could be worth a try, but just a tweak. |

What a striking sunset image. The colour in the sky seems to explode out across the sky area and is nicely reflected in the sea. It is interesting how there is movement in the waves but everything else is nice and sharp? This adds a sense of dynamism to the scene I feel. In an ideal world there would have been a boat silhoueted on the sea of vourse but as presented it is very good. |

I must commend the photographer here on creating such a dynamic colour image that is basically just white, blue and a dash of yellow! I am impressed by the detail in the highlights, and that sky is wonderful. The foreground detail echoes everything in the colour stakes and does provide a good lead in but I wonder if there is too much of it. The flag is perfectly placed and its angle does lead us further into the image. |

This is a wonderful family portrait which I am sure will be enjoyed for years to come. There is an innocence conveyed here with the eye contact. The image does have a slight yellow cast I feel which is easily rectified. Very good. |

Something very different and nicely done. The idea is good and the use of a wide aperture separates the legs from the background nicely. If I am correct in assuming that Mog is the soft toy it is unfortunate that it is cropped right on the top border of the image. I would have cloned out the bright gentleman on the bottom left as well. There is no doubt this is a great idea for an image series. |
