Internal PDI Competition Entry Instructions

Competitions

The following instructions apply to all internal PDI competitions unless instructed otherwise:

All internal competition entries should be e-mailed to the internal competition secretary
at the e-mail address: int-comp@parkwoodcameraclub.com at least one week prior to the competition
  judging date.

The images should be sent as an attachment rather than being embedded in the e mail.

For Window users this is straightforward as files attached to the e mail will appear as attachments
and won’t embed into the e mail
(although following the same process as Mac users will help the competition secretary).

Mac Users, however, should create a folder quoting their name,
(first and second name, exactly the same as the name used in the image titles) in ‘Finder’
into which the 3 entries, correctly sized and named, should be added.

This file should then be attached to your e mail to the internal competition secretary.

The images should be sized and named as instructed below.

The club's internal Projected Digital Image (PDI) competitions are run using Di Centra software,
and displayed using the Canon WUX6010 projector.

To satisfy the requirements of this combination of hardware and software all competition image files should conform to the following rules.

Width not greater than 1600px
Height not greater than 1200px

Filename in the form nn_title_author.jpg where
nn is an index number, typically 01, 02, or possibly 03
(the highest numbered image will be discarded if the number of entries needs to be reduced.)

Title is your choice of title for the image
Author is the name of the entrant
Filetype must be .jpg
Image file should be saved with the colour space set to sRGB

Naming examples:
01_Golden Sunset_John Smith.jpg
02_River View_John Smith.jpg
03_Morning Rise_John Smith.jpg

To obtain the best possible projected quality, images should be as large as possible within the limits set out above.
See diagram below.

If images are being prepared for external competitions the requirements may well be different.
