This has been well spotted and shows the photographer has a sense of humour and remembers the Blockbusters TV programme. There is an interesting story here as to why a seemingly well presented establishment has this issue. The image itself is nicely presented and well taken but I think I would have cropped off the light area on the right hand side. Otherwise I enjoy the quality of this with spot on colour balance being one of the reasons. |

This is an education for me as I didn't previously know there was a plant with this name. The photographer has carefully merged together nicely the plant with the added textured background. The diagonal arrangement creates a dynamic feel to this and the detail of the plant is great. I wondered if the blue background has given a slight blue cast overall and the plant could have been warmed up a tad? Nevertheless, I like the idea here which has worked well. |

I feel there is a sad story here as the wreck is languishing on the mud whilst it's younger relations are looking good on the water in the background. I wasn't sure about the foreground detail on the left but on second thoughts it does lend a sense of depth to the image which draws us in and links us to other elements that take us through the rest of the composition. There is dead space to the front right but even this works well in the arrangement. Very good. |

When I looked at this image a second time I noticed the wonderful arrangement of the surf which actually guides us through the composition! I like the letterbox crop and the landscape feature in the background is nicely placed. The conditions are obviously bright and the shutter speed chosen is high which has frozen the movement of the water which led me to think that some experimenting with some ND filters could create some nice movement in those waves. |

This is a fine, detailed portrait shot of this character. The fur in particular is nicely rendered. The sun appears to be high in the sky which has put the eyes in shadow which is a shame but I like the expression. A crop off the left to eliminate the branches and move the subject to the left in the frame is something I would have tried. Well done with choosing a wide aperture which has concentrated the sharpness on the monkey and softened the background. |

As the title suggests there is some great lighting in this landscape particularly in the background. The trees in the foreground add depth to the image but are also a bit of a barrier as there isn't a clear path through them and the shadows are a tad deep and dark. Having said that they have captured some nice sidelighting. |

I live on the coast and there is no doubt that these creatures generate a love/hate relationship with the locals but there is no doubt that this is a well captured image of these birds. The sharpness and detail, especially in the highlight areas of the plumage are well captured and the all important eye is clear and pin sharp. The overcast lighting has helped here with obtaining this detail throughoutthe contrast range. Capturing it in it's natural environment is good and the composition with it off centre works well. |

This image is all about the colour palette and this works well. There are some issues such as the white feature in the background that competes with the pink petals and the unfortunate soft insect but otherwise this is a pleasant image and well done on finding a nice specimen to photograph. |

There is a very 'painterly' feel to this I think with how the light plays across the surface of the petals. The bright green background does compete and I wonder if a different viewpoint or a closer crop could have been a benefit. Having said that it does provide a complete contrast to the darker tones of the petals. |
