A nice idea with these locked together until someone tears them apart. I like the off centre composition with the large dead space. Strangely the locks do not appear to be in sharp focus which is a shame. The diagonal dark area is a nice touch as well. |

A simple but effective composition with an apt and witty title. The leaning King piece adds a strong diagonal component to this image and the exposure and focussing etc are spot on, not easy with the extremely light and dark tones. The shadows are a good extra as well as it avoids the pieces seeming to be suspeneded in space. |

Photographers usually try tricks such as wide apertures to reduce wire fences but here the photographer has enbraced it and included it as a vital part of the composition. I like the story here and the subjects are well posed. It is unfortunate about the light area at the top of the image which is also on the edge which is taking our eye but otherwise this is an enjoyable image. |

This is a great record shot of this vessel. It fills the frame perfectly and the lighting has revealed all the details wonderfully. A minor criticism is that the horizon is slightly off but this is a nitpicking on an otherwise great shot. |

I specialise in taking 3D images and this would be a great location for my photography. The sense of depth created here is veery good and I enjoy the sharpness and well arranged composition. I believe it could benefit from another element such as an animal to give us a 'zing' point to rest our eyes. The range of green tones and really no other colour works well. |

This is a rare sight, four Hawker Hurricanes in formation. We see Spitfires most days where we live so seeing an image of it's lesser seen colleague is great. The image is well captured with good sharpness in the fuselages but more important, a nice blur to the propellors. So often these days we see images with frozen props but for me this is how it should be done. The lighting conditions were a little dull but this does retain a higher range of tones. |

This is a good atmosperic shot showing what appears to be real time activity in a racing car garage. There is a wealth of detail throughout the exposure range and I like how the mechanics are shown working and not stopping to pose for the photographer. I am wondering whether a slightly different angle could have reduced the impact of the van in the background but as presented this is a fine image. |

A well taken image with sharpness fron to back showing the text on the chair and the building in fine detail in the background. I may have taken a different shot by moving to the right to eliminate some of the sky top right. This could be a good image for the location itself. |

This is a well seen and taken image in what I imagine were less than perfect conditions. The two birds together fit well with the title although the large aperture has rendered the rear bird a little out of focus. Good to see a different type of nature shot taken on location. |

Blackberries are very prevalent in my Mothers back garden and I am sure there is a picture there and then this appears in this competition! The photographer has carefully chosen a composition to reveal the black blackberry as the odd one out. The arrangement of the unripe berries is excellent although a little tight in the frame. Considering the use of a mobile phone which chose an aperture of F1.7 this in an impressive effort. |

Beach huts make fine subjects and looking at this image there is a multitude of different compositions here to work with. The photographer has chosen to look along the row which can work but here it has given us a large expanse of empty sky. Under more exciting lighting conditions this composition can work well but here I am afraid the dull lighting has not been the best for it. Having said that it is a great subject. |

This is the classic view of a classic subject which I am sure many of us will know from our younger days. I still remember being surprised to find this in Shaftesbury in Dorset and not somewhere up north as I always thought previously! Well done on avoiding the white vans I've often found in this shot on my visits but instead you have CPH scaffolding instead. Otherwise, this could have been a timeless image. Nicely taken. |

It could have been a brave decision to present this as a monochrome as we can imagine the colours of these felines. The bodies do appear to merge into one at first glance but the addition of the face and those eyes is very well arranged. The light tone at the back left on the edge takes our eye a little but that little face is still excellent. |

The lighting here is interesting with some backlit areas and the face effectively in shadow, mind you would you fire fill in flash at this?! The expression is great and the face is full of sharp detail. For many years camera club judges have told me to avoid bars and fencing when taking images of captive animals but there the photographer has not hidden that fact at all which I believe is tio be applauded. |
