This is a very nice autumn study. The differentil focussing works excellently to separate the leaves from the background. The white area top left is a slight distraction but otherwise this is a fine image. The colour combination in particular works very well. |

The mnochrome format works very well here with a good contrast and excellent shapes which are important factors for a good black and white image. I particularly enjoy the details in the foreground vessel. The ferry itself is a weaker element but it does provide a good foil to the foreground and the excellent control of depth of field is to be commended. |

I am very impressed with the composition here and the careful attention to detail to ensure the buoys are in the optimum position. The colour of the buoys also adds greatly to the image which although not taken in the best lighting conditions is otherwise the best image I have seen of this scary wreck. |

Wow, this is fantastic use of a wide angle lens and also shows the power of thirds. All the lines in the image take us to the fort. The monochrome contrast is excellently balanced for the sea and sky although some detail is lost in the shadow areas. The image really does convey the power and loneliness of this location. |

You can't help but feel uplifted by the feel of this image. There is no interaction or eye contact but the expression and pose all give positive vibes. The image is very sharp and full of detail with nice lighting. The contrast is a little low but it suits this subject. |

This was certainly an amazing light show and the photographer has captured a good moment with the colour arrangement with warm tones in the centred framed by cooler colours. The blue tones are extremely over saturated though and I wonder if there is enough detail in the original RAW file which could be brought out with careful editing and softening those tones. I would also crop the bright area on the left which would really enhance the composition to me. |

What is great about this location is the timelessness of it and the opportunities for some great photographs. The use of a wideangle lens works well here and using the streetlamp as the single point of light is very good. I think I would have set a very low ISO and used a tripod which would give the opportunity to use a smaller aperture for better sharpness. I would recommend that the lamp brightness/contrast is lowered which the lower ISO should allow. This would be a good image for a monochrome conversion but having said that I do enjoy the warm tones. |

The subject in the title actually takes up a small area of the picture space but all the varied leading lines take us straight to it. I like the way the Victorian structure frames the modern London in the distance. We all know these static timeless buildings and I therefore like the way that the human element in contrast is blurred. The bridge itself is nicely lit and the photographer is to be congratulated on their control of the shadow areas with their markedly cooler tones. |

What a finely observed and well timed image. The composition is brilliant and the photographer stood in the perfect spot. The action within each arch is great and I like how the rules were broken as it would have been tempting to have the cyclist riding into the image instead of on the way out. The exposure balance between the highlights and shadow areas is excellent as well. |

This is a very different image. There is something very powerful about this from the pose to the interaction with the viewer. The monochrome treatment is very strong and although a little overpowering for me it is well controlled . Well done on producing something very striking. |

Deal pier is a very functional place and maybe not as attractive as other seaside piers especially in bleak weather and this is well conveyed here. The composition gives a great impression of depth although I may have waited a while until the gentleman was closer to the camera. This is certainly an image with a feeling of the place. |

This view of Deal pier is an often photographed scene and although it is a very attractive composition with excekllent leading lines it does need something extra to make the image stand out from the crowd. More dramatic lighting and/or extra long exposures are worth trying. Technically the image is good and is well worth revisiting. |
