This is a nice monochrome image which has been processed well. The colour popping is also well done but not sure if it was needed here for me. The lighting is a little harsh for this subject which I feel is better for male portraits. Technically, the focussing and tones are very well controlled. |

Not quite sure what the story is in this image but it is certainly unique. Well done for having a camera with you and taking advantage of the sunset. I think having a figure in the foreground employed in something linked to Jewson would have been advantageous. As I said certainly something different. |

The lighting on this image of Connie is nicely controlled especially on the face. The image does appear to have a softness applied to it which works well with a female subject. Not sure about the fingers and the image does appear slightly underexposed but the gaze into the light is very good. |

This is an interesting image. There appears to be a wide range of tones here and it would have been relatively easy to boost the contrast but I'm assuming this is representative of the day as per the title. Although nice to be presented as found I think I would have cloned out the half poppies on the left. (There is enough fence details to allow this). |

There is obviously a story here which is what I like to see in an image. The use of monochrome enhances the newsy feel to this. Usually I would say this was too empty but that is the point of it of course! I don't know whether it was meant to be or is a happy accident but having the human silhouette on the Matilda poster appearing to run away out of the image is a nice touch. As a photographer who takes 3D images this would be a good subject for me. |

Excellent lighting and warm tones literally scream 'autumn' here. The wide aperture used has given a small depth of field which is a slight shame and it would have been nice to have maybe had a figure in the background but otherwise I cannot fault the lighting and composition. |

This image is full of detail and wherever you look in the image space you will find something of interest. The expressions on the faces and even the single child looking away all add to it. Most importantly is the attention given to the composition which has only given one figure cut in half at the edge. Superb observation and timing. |

The photographer here has carefully selected a subject and made the most of it with spot on focussing and depth of field. The background is a tad distracting and the unfortunate colour of the vehicle draws our eye to it. I wondered how this would look in monochrome. Well seen and well taken, an image with a real story. |

This is an abstract view of Camber Sands and is a good study in colour with just basically blue and yellow. I think I would have used this as a basis fof a more abstract image such as adding some big grain in a nod to the sand or doing a horizontal blur either in camera or in software. As presented it would still make a nice image to display on the wall. |

This is a well seen composition. The shape in the sand is good and the addition of the sky detail and reflection works well. I think a small crop off the bottom would be beneficial, I realise this would put the horizon slap bang in the middle but I think it would work well here. Well seen. |

There is a wonderful quality to this image and the soft lighting really suits the subject. Interestingly this does not appear to be a studio shot but looks to be taken in a room. The surrounding lighting has been subdued nicely but there is a white object above the models head which is a little distracting. The expression makes us wonder what she is thinking which adds a little mystery to this. Very nice. |

This is a great pattern picture with all lines leading us to the centre. The colour pallette is small but the combination of warm and cool colours work very nicely. For perfection something at the vanishing point would have been perfection but that is a small point against this. |

I like the idea behind this and the composition certainly fits the title. The reflection is a little subdued and flat and I think I would have increased the contrast and colour saturation a tad. Something a bit different and well seen. |

This is a bold and brave image which breaks a few rules. The shadow effectively divides the picture up but it does draw us into the image. The contrast is too high though which has burnt out the sky completely and if the conditions allowed I think I would have tried some HDR on this. There is some good detail in the foliage which has been nicely captured. |

Sheffield Park is noted for its autumn colours and I like the way they have been incorporated here to produce this frame. The composition is very good and I like the inclusion of the building in the background. I think my only comment would be to reduce the foreground slightly but other than that I quite enjoy this. |

This has been taken at the optimum time to retain detail in the sky and give the wonderful warm colours and effects of the artificial lighting. There is some convergence that I may have reduced/removed and the 'Christopher W' legend on the boat is a definite distraction that I would have cloned out. However, this photographer has certainly grasped the essentials of taking evening/night shots. Very good. |
