This is a busy still life. There is a multitude of plants but I do like the arrangement of them. Interestingly, some of the specimens are passed their best as many photographers of this kind of image often search out the best condition plants. Technically, it is a tad contrasty but there is a wealth of nice sharp detail. |

There is a nice sense of depth here with the nice forefround detail. It would be easy to see this foliage as a barrier but there is a thinning in the middle which allows us through. The fog adds atmosphere but the image does lack a 'zing' point, something to rest our eye on. It is a nicely produced image with a good range of tones. |

The detail on the highland cow is tremendous and I love the expression. The animal is central in the image and I think with all that lovely sharp details and lustrous fur tones the central portion could be easily enlarged. The control of the colour tones is very good as the orange fur tones could have been lost against the similar coloured foliage behind. |

I'm not sure if I fully understand the inclusion of the model figure but as a tabletop still life this is an interesting composition. There is a good impression of 3D with the nicely arranged clubs and balls. The lighting appears to derive from on camera flash which has caused some bright highlights. I wonder if other forms of lighting could have been investigated. |

This is a nice restful image with an excellent reflection. The image is a little low in contrast but there appears to be a good range of tones present so I would experiment with boosting the colours. I'm sure those autumn tones can be really made to sing out. A crop to take out the short white line in the foreground would be beneficial as well. This could be a nice image for the wall. |

A very high quality record type shot of this item. The detail is tremendous as is the contrast which retains all the tones. The dagger components have also been nicely arranged. My only minor comment is the lack of light top right and I may have tried reflecting some light back into here. However, that is a minor comment on this great image. |

These images are always fun to look at. I am sure there could well have been many attempts at this to find the one that 'works'. Technically, the lighting set up is perfect and the shutter speed has been well chosen for the liquid. |

Wow, what a place. The mud flats are very well rendered here and I like how the patterns drag our eye around the image. I did wonder if it needed a 'zing' point but I'm not sure if it does. Even the shapes in the clouds seem to emulate the mud patterns. Well seen, nicely arranged composition and well produced. |

Deal Pier is very different from the traditional piers of our imaginatiion as it is made from concrete sections but in many ways it can can be very photogenic. This composition is very dynamic and has been taken using a very long exposure. This has obviously softened the water considerably but the high key look to the image makes it look overexposed to me. I wondered if there is detail in these brighter areas on the RAW file that could be teased out? |

What an incredibly simple but effective idea. The image is not entirely sharp and I would like a stronger black tone in there somewhere but the sheer simplicity and joy over rules these points. Very good. |

The photographer here appears to be having great fun with their indoor tabletop photography and why not? The idea and the execution of this are very good and the monochrome conversion is also to a high standard. |

This is a good study of this plant. The depth of field is perfect as is the exposure. The arrangement and number of plants is good. I would have removed or toned down the white object which appears incongruous with the green and dark tones. Nicely taken. |

This is an excelllent character study of this lad. The monochrome treatment is a great choice. The choice of aperture, focus point and the nicely applied vignette draws us into the face and those pin sharp eyes. The woollen hat is a great addition as well. An excellent portrait and one I'm sure the family of the subject should treasure. |
