This is a great photo subject. It has often been said that rust is so attractive to photographers. This is a well taken record type shot of this but I would suggest there are a multitude of other images within the details. Excellent quality image though. |

It is interesting to see an infra red in digital. I well remember this technique during film days. The colours are false of course but the ethereal quality is certainly interesting. There are a couple of white dots that I would have cloned out but this is nonetheless a fine image. Imagine a couple of swans swimming in as well, that would complete this perfectly. |

I always enjoy seeing an image with a story and this fits the bill although I'm not too sure what the motorcyclist is doing. Using monochrome adds to the story feel. The shadow across the face is unfortunate and I would have toned down the hand a tad but otherwise the monochrome is well handled. |

Well timed with a great composition. The quality of the image with superb detail in the animals coats is great. It is a shame that the noses are obscured but that is unavoidable from this angle. Well done. |

The idea here is good but the title is a little misleading as although the shop appears to deal in curios from the past there are too many modern details in the overal image which detract for me. These are the double yellow lines, the drain cover and the burglar alarm. I think I may have done a sepia conversion to this with a vignette for full effect. Certainly a good subject to play with. |

Obviously built before the days of health and safety this is a wondrous machine and the photographer has captured it perfectly. This could easily have been taken as a record type image but the photographer has cleverly given a pictorial slant to it. The indoor lighting is obviously lower than that outside which has resulted in burnt out areas but these have been well controlled and not too distracting. Nicely taken. |

The composition here is everything. At first glance it is a simple image but the placement of the figure is vitally important. This placement gives the figure a feeling of looking ahead. The clouds are perfect including the darker ones which give a natural vignette touch. Very good indeed. |

Trees with foliage and plants in full bloom were always a favourite subject in Kodak HIE infra red days and this image shows they still work with digital infra red. The ethereal glow from the film is absent here but we still see the clear contrast of the branches and the foliage. |

Light trails through the blue lit arches with train overhead |
Wow, we have a fair few different light sources going on here! It is amazing how the different artificial lights create this multitude of colours. They will also be different brightnesses of course and this shows by the headlights being a little burnt out unfortunately and I would have cropped out the half road sign on the left. Taking the image slightly earlier may also given a deep blue hue to the sky as well. As an exercise in night photography and experimenting with different light frequencies this is very good. |

This is a well spotted image which has a great deal to commend it. The figures on the beach at first glance appear to clash with the dark areas in the background but many of them have rim lighting so they are just about saved by this. The colour in the sky is good and the metalwork acts as a great frame. I can understand why so much was included but this has created a large dead space top centre. I think I would crop this composition severely down to just below the aircraft trails. This would create a letterbox shape but for me it would strengthen it immensely. |

This is a very creative image. Overlaying a triptych of the background image is interesting. It appears to be another infra red image although this one is more reminiscent of the classic film results. I must admit I don't quite understand the coloured lines but it does create a very strong sense of depth which works well. |

A very abstract image which tells the story. Not too sure where Christmas comes into this but it certainly implies inclement weather. |

The colours here work very well and the image really fits the title. Lighting is very good. The mass of daffodil heads are a little cluttered and it may have helped to isolate fewer examples. Well done for getting down low to capture this. |

Utilising the loose timber as foreground interest which due to its dynamic angle leads us until the image wonderfully. The lighting is very flat which gives immense detail but with low contrast. The image is full of detail and is sharp but I think some tweaks with the colour and contrast in your chosen computer software would be very beneficial to it. Well done again for spotting the potential of the loose timber. |

Everything here is dynamic. There are angles everywhere and capturing the wheelie is great. The contrast on the motorcyclist is a tad high robbing us of some highlight detail but that is nit picking as this is indeed very good and just shouts speed. |

It is always great to see a Spitfire and many of us I'm sure can imagine the sound of the Merlin engine just by looking at this image. The lighting appears to be coming from the right which is reflecting off the propellor blades nicely. The image is a little noisy so could be a sectional enlargement. This is not a problem if the sharpness and detail are there but here there is a sharp white halo which does detract. Well done on using a suitable shutter speed which still retains movement in the blades. Many people make the mistake of using a fast speed that freezes the blades thereby creating a 'model' type effect. |

I lke the arrangement here of the blooms against the background. Bright highlights here can often overpower the foreground but here the photographer has worked hard to use them as part of a frame. The blooms themselves are nicely rendered. The choice of monochrome is an interesting one but I think flowers work best in colour. It would be interesting to see this side by side with a colour version. |

There is much to look at here amongst this amazing construction. The monochrome is very well controlled with excellent sharpness and contrast. I think it needs a zing point but well done for carefully selecting a portion of this building and for keeping the verticals good. |
