This is nicely constructed. The foreground interest is very good and I like the planks at an angle. The curved metal constructions for a brilliant frame but I would be tempted to crop down to them which would strengthen the composition even more. |

This is a good study of this travelworn badge. The chromework contrasts well with the interesting colour of the old Morris Minor. I like the tones and reflections in the paintwork. The contrast of the badge is a tad high and I wonder if some work could have been done here to coax some more detail out of it. Well done on placing the badge slightly off centre which balances the image greatly. |

This is a well seen and well timed image. The foliage works well as a frame on the right hand side. For me I think a tighter crop is required to fully take advantage of this moment. |

Although I know this is a straight image it does look so surreal. Well done on balancing the exposure for good detail in the artwork and in the surrounding darker areas. I assume a high ISO was used and yet the image is quite clean. The slight convergence could easily be removed and maybe a crop each side but otherwise I enjoy this. |

I well remember the fun we all had in film days with experimenting with infra red in Kodak b + w and the colour infra red slide film. I can only guess how its done digitally but it does give the same completely false colour palette. As a composition this works well apart from the rubbish bin which looks very incongruous but I have to say has been well placed in the composition. |

This image shows well capabilities of digital infra red. The colour contrast is good and the sky detail is excellent. The crowning glory here is that superbly seen and well place plant poking up on the left. |

The ability for infra red to render foliage as white is displayed superbly here as are the ghostly effects that infra red gives. The arrangement is very good but I think I would have presented this as monochrome and dispensed with the red sky. |

What a wonderful subject for a monochrome image. The textures and detail available here lend themselves to great pictures although I'm not sure if this very high contrast is the way I'd go unless I zoomed into a detail and excluded the background. Certainly a great subject to return to. |

The part of this image that concentrates on these young people is excellent. I really like the quality and feel of this. Unfortunately the large flower above the young lady's head is hard to ignore. I would certainly crop/clone this out which would make this image very good indeed then. |

There are a few infra red images in this competition and the effect is certainly striking. Here it has worked well at emphasizing the blooms in the foreground. The issue for me is that the building in the background is not positioned well in the frame. I think a side step would have centralised things nicely and we would not have cut off incomplete windows. It may require some effort but I think it would still retain the excellent foreground and lead into the image. |

Back in the days of infra red images shot on film scenes such as this were the staple diet where the effects are truly effective. The dark black skies and white clouds coupled with glowing foliage always worked well with gravestones. This composition is good but there is a clash of the white tones between the clouds and the foliage which is accentuated by the relatively high contrast. It is nice to see infra red techniques making a return though. |

It is the lighting and the golden glow which makes this image. The composition and the framing is spot on and the lighting is just at the right angle. It is certainly an image that demands enlargement and I think this would look great on any wall. Excellent. |

This is a curious location for an exhibition. The photographer here has carefully chosen his composition and waited for these two figures to complete the scene. Having a red shirt on the third is fantastic luck and the animation of this character is perfect. I think I might have turned down the sharpness a little as it is bordering on oversharpening but the detail within cannot be faulted. |

Well spotted and well taken. The arrangement, the focussing and depth of field all come together beautifully here. Well done. |

I can't help wondering what sort of building needs such a complex scaffold as this. Well done on concentrating on a small part and the monochrome is a good choice. The image is basically a pattern picture but I think it needs a zing point somewhere to capture the eye. Nicely taken. |

Infra red is an interesting branch of photography and the results can be utilised to great effect. This is the first time I've seen an infra red sunset and unfortunately the false colours that the technique creates do not really suit the subject. For me I like to see an effect enhance an image and not become the image. I like the shapes in this image but I think another approach would have been more appropriate on this occasion. |

The landscapes of Scotland are a glorious sight and this image shows how great they look in clear weather. I won't say anything negative about the bridge being in the composition simply because it is there and should be included as part of the landscape. Considering this is a sunset image it is strange that there is no strong modelling on the landscape which appears a lit very flatly. I think this could be because of the over warm colours. I think I would tone these down a touch which should hopefully bring out some strong colours and textures. I do enjoy the excellent composition though which leads us through the picture. |

I must say you were very blessed to take these images in such great and clear conditions. The composition using the foreground rock overhang works very well indeed and the depth of field is spot on. I would crop out the bright area in the foreground which would tighten the composition concentrate our gaze on the mountains. |

Well done on getting such a detailed image of this insect. It is good to see it 'in situ'. The depth of field does not fully extend over the complete creature and the image looks a little oversharp but I still enjoy it nonetheless. I can't help thinking that a 90 degree spin to the right could be worth having a go. |

This is a great macro study of this interesting specimen. The detail, exposure and dynamic angle combine to create a nice pictorial image. I think I would have preferred a more natural looking background instead of just black but congratulations on creating a pictorial feel to a macro shot with that diagonal arrangement. |
