Certainly a very tranquil scene and going down the monochrome route has helped in these lighting conditions. The mass of boats is a little jumbled and I think a separate one in the empty foreground space would have helped. The monochrome conversion does have good contrast. |

This is a very nice image of this bird. The pose is good and I like the way it is off centre and looking into the composition. I am impressed with the lack of any distraction in the background. The bird has been over sharpened as shown by the white halo but this has given some sharp detail in the feathers and the eye. |

Views like this work well when there is good lighting on the background subject just as we have here. However, I think it is cropped too tightly and become a bit jumbled. I image the idea was to exclude tourists etc but I think a wider view would be beneficial. Well done on choosing a good time with the brightest lighting on the subject drawing our eye. |

This is an absolute top quality portrait. There is actually very little I can say about this. Excellent. |

This is another absolutley top quality image. The shape and form are excellent and everything is enhanced by the clever lighting with careful attention to the highlight areas but without sacrificing shadow detail. Top quality monochrome treatment as well. |

An image that captures the fun and atmosphere of this event. The expression is great. Well done on isolating this character with just one small intrusion. The colours complete the picture. |

The idea is good here and this image certainly conveys the movement of the dragon. However, it is perhaps too blurred and I wonder if a burst of flash would have created a sharp image within the blurred areas? Nice idea though and well done for trying something different. |

What an interesting tree and it provides a real contrast to the urban looking area it is somehow surviving in. The colours of the foliage work well against the manmade structures and I do like the branches and leaves hanging down at the top of the image. These branches do obscure the windows and I was wondering if there is another image to take here by getting lower down so the branches are above the windows? It is amazing how important that plant pot is to the composition. If you cover it up the image really seems to lose something. |

Beautiful sunset colours and a strong, nicely placed silhouette work well but I would have cropped out all of the foreground detail. Cropping this strengthens the composition for me. Cannot fault the exposure though which can be difficult for sunset images. |

This image certainly fits the title! Text can be difficult in an image and should be relevant and here we have the perfect example of successful application. The composition is nice with a strong foreground that draws us into the picture. In the perfect world it would have been great to have had something else in the expanse of ice but as presented this image still tells a good story. |

What an interesting exhibition. I like to take 3D images and this would have been a great subject. The lighting on this occasion was very bright and contrasty but the photographer has been clever and noticed the shadows which highlight the perfectly placed walking couple. A contrasty image but certainly well seen and well timed. |
