This is a nicely constructed composition that could have been taken in a few ways. The rockpool itself would have been a good image but the photographer here has shown us the rockpool in its environment which works well. Including the complete rock on the left was important. The movement and softness in the clouds is a little distracting to me but otherwise this is a fine image. |

This looks to be agood location but I think this image does not do it justice. The horizon cuts the image completely in half and should ideally be higher or lower. The image is crying out for a focal point and the lighting was not the best. I am sure there are great images to be found here and looks to be well worth returning to. |

This is another image that holds promise if it was taken with more appropriate lighting. I am sure that pond could have great reflections on a better day. The composition is good with nice depth of field and a sense of depth too. |

This is a very interesting image. At first glance it is obviously a flower but then you notice it appears to be taking on a human form. The "pose" is excellent as is the lighting. There appears to be a halo effect too which works well. |

A clever image which certainly looks genuine. ( I did wonder if the card had been added later but I'm sure it was there at the taking stage). I imagine there were a few attempts before capturing that card in that position. Away from that the image is a very high quality portrait of this chap and the props including the lamp and glass are great additions. |

A very colourful and uplifting image with a story. There are some great details here including the drink hanging off the handlebars! It is a shame that the tree is growing straight out of the subjects head which could have been removed in post processing but I imagine at the point of taking time was short. |

There is much to enjoy here and another image with a story. I like the placement of the figure which leads us into the image. I would have been tempted to crop this to a square and lose the large empty expanse to the right. The colour pallette is great with the red clothes being especially effective, |

The use of monochrome works well here and it certainly accentuates the weather conditions. The contrast range is very good as well. The subtle colour popping is very effective on the taxi signs but I might hasve chosen a different shade of blue for the umbrella. Having saod that it would have been easy to chose a warm colour like red but the blue does add to the general atmosphere. |
