This is a well constructed image. The composition is nicely arranged and although the lighting is subdued there is detail throughout the contrast range from the dark base area up to the wonderfully lit petals. At no point does the vase merge into the background. Actually, I wonder if the vase was carefully chosen as the white wave pattern draws us through and upwards. Very nice indeed. |

There is an immense amount of detail here and the careful lighting has illuminated the important details. The dark black background has merged into the subject which could give an impression of being suspended in the air but the reflection does alleviate that issue slightly. |

The bird has posed nicely for the photographer here with a purposeful look in his eyes. I like the sharpness and the detail in the birds' plumage. I think I would have cropped off the top grey area and the bottom of the image up to the wood which I think strengthens the composition. Well captured. |

Night photography can be a source of interesting images and when artificial light sources are in the frame there are often bright colours to be had as we see here. The sky area is dark black and I would have cropped this out and the post on the left. Incidentally for an image taken using a tripod I would imagine there is an overal softness to the image. Perhaps it was taken at full aperture on a zoom lens. It is often beneficial to stop down a couple of stops I find. The exposure values and colour combination are good. |

There is definitely a listing issue going on here! As a composition it is actually qute good. The vegetation and the ducks in the foreground water actually provide a nice lead in from the left up to the stricken vessel and the dynamic angle of the mast points us up into the sky area. A simple view but very well approached. |

This image gives a nice sense of depth with clear foreground, middle ground and background planes. The background plane also has the brightest object so we are naturally drawn through the image to that destination. Although the subject is perhaps not the most tradional pictorial subject it is well worth taking these images as in the future this could become an historicl record of the industry here. |
