This is a very nice detail image showing a surprisingly complicated looking piece of kit. The use of monochrome has emphased the metalwork nice and there is a nice arrangement of shapes in the image. The background water is a little bright but this is a good image. |

This is an image with a story and a message. Obviously the sculptures cannot be changed so the photographer has to add their own input which has been nicely applied here. The arrangement of the lines and pkacement of the placards is very good and the colourful lighting contrasts with the dark message. Thought provoking. |

Evening shots work best when there is still some light in the sky and this is a good example. The colours of the artificial lighting contrast well with the natural colours. The starbursts are a good added extra. The composition is arranged so we are dragged into the image which works well except it feels empty in the background. Maybe a boat leaving harbour could work well in that space? The image does have a good sense od depth. |

The photographer has done well to capture this. There is some nice detail in the body and the wings although the eye looks a little soft. I think I may have darkened the picturee slightly as the light band across the background is a little distracting. Well done on getting so close though. |

Well done to the photographer for waiting until the sun was in line with the last groyne post. The lines within this create a 'Z' shape which works good. There are perhaps two things I would do which is to crop the bottom to tighten the composition. Secondly, the groyne itself is solid black and I think an HDR approach could work well here. Nevertheless , a nicely arranged and well seen composition. |

The shapes and colour here are a good combination, I particularly like the sharp water detail. The silhouette is a great idea but unfortunately I think it is I the wrong place as it is the darkest part of the image. If it was further to the right in the brighter area I feel it would work better. A grerat idea though. |

Every line in this indeed points towards the sky and the use of monochrome enhances it nicely. I like the arrangement of shapes and associated reflections. The sky itself is a little featureless and wouldn't it be great if a passing jet liner appeared in that space? Some nicely controlled monochtome tones here as well. |

This looks like an infra red image as it demonstrates all the features that are present in that genre of photography. The light tones in the foliage where infra red light is to be found contrasts nicely with the building which is also nicely placed in the composition. Controlling the tones is a careful balance but I think a small tweak in the contrast would reduce some of the grey tones here. It is good to see infra red images like this again. |

There is more to this picture than first appears. The foliage forms a nice frame and the yellow flowers add something extra. I also like how the clouds seem to mimic the shape of the trees. The only minus point is the empty space in the middle. A group of swans or something similar would have completed this. |

It is refreshing to see a different approach to a sunflower image. I like the idea but may have cropped the right hand side to make a square format. Using a wide aperture has nicely concetrated our gaze on the sharp areas where there is some great detail. cropped off the right hand side to make a square composition. |

Everything about this image gives an impression of softness. The gentle tones, the folds of the flower and the lighting. I wondered if making the centre the only sharp area could have been an idea. Nevertheless a gentle image. |

This is a nicely arranged composition where everything takes us to the subject. The 'Royal Navy' text is a little unfortunate and I think I might have increased the contrast a tad. I enjoy the story being told here and the mystery as to what the photographer was taking. |

This is a nicely timed image that is also a good composition. The bird feeder is nicely placed but the best part is the bird itself which is captured in a great pose. It is unfortunately not sharp with a loss of detail in the feathers but otherwise the exposure is god giving a nice contrast range. |

The photographer here has chosen a great time of day to take this. The artificial lighting has contrasted nicely with the natural dusk tones. There is an immense amount of detail in this image. I am assuming that the two posts extend quite a way out of the image space which could have unbalanced it as they have been cropped off at the top. The conditions really came together for this great image. |

I enjoy taking 3D images and I am a little jealous as this is a location I have yet to visit that could yield some great images for me! This particular image is extremely well put together. There is an extremely long depth of focus which has given sharp detail front to back. The pillars of stone also lead us straight to the very brave looking other photographer. There is also detail throught the contrast range from the darkness of the rocks to the bright surf My only thought is if I might have cropped the sky a bit more to push the horizon up although this is a minor observation in this original image of a popular subject. |
