There is a great deal to like here. First of all the timing is great and the car has a great attitude with the wheels in the air. The panning has worked well by keeping sharp dertail on the car itself. The position within the frame is great too and on top there is a great sense of speed. |

This is another well caught image with great timing and great detail. The relatively inclement elements have actually helped this image. It doesn't convey as much speed as the other entry but is still a great image. |

Swans can be notoriously difficult to photograph as detail is often lost in the plumage but the photographer has done well here to actually capture all that detail. The flat lighting has helped of course but nevertheless it is well caught. The grass in the foreground is an unfortunate distraction but it is good to see the bird in its natural surroundings. |

This is a bright and colourful image of a part of Mote Park I don't personally know. It is an interesting viewpoint and the composition clebely uses different elemts to take us through the image. This is just a minor point but I may have lowered the viewpoint slightly to lessen the perceived gap between the clump of grass and the background. However, this is as I said is a minor observation on this very nice image. |

This is an interesting still life which invites careful scrutiny. Amongst the quality details is a story as we can see spilt water which indicates that the flowers and their vase has fallen. Placing these on glass and creating a reflection is a great idea but I was wondering if tilting the camera down would have more of that reflection? Otherwise this is a fine image. |

Well done to the photographer for capturing the bird in this 'pose'. The diiagonal of the wings fills that part of the frame beautifully and it is als perfectly placed in the composition as well. Again I must congratulate the photographer for retaining the detail in the highlights. The only real minor point apart from the white highight in the background that I would have removed is the fact the the bird isn't sharp which is a shame on an otherwise fine image. |

The bird is nicely positioned here and I like the fact that we see him in an action pose. Unfortunately, I find the background is a bit intrusive and the overal contrast is a little too high. I do like the story though that this image tells. |

There is a painterly feel to this unusual view of Sheffield Park. The lighting appears dull and flat but this adds to the painterly feel. I think it needs a zing point, something to catch our eye but the composition does lead us nicely through the image. |

The use of diagonal lines in this composition adds great strength. Personally I would tone down the yellow cast a tad but there is nice detail within the plant. |

This is a carefully arranged image where the composition compels us in and up those stairs. Text can be difficult in an image and has to be used carefully but here it is perfectly relevant. I wondered if having a blurred figure climbing the stairs could be a good addition? On a final note that bright white featureless area at the top of the stairs is a vital part of the composition. Cover it with your hand and it is weakened straight away. |

There is a wealth of delicate detail in the petals of this iris. Having it on a slight diagonal adds greatly to the composition. The lighting is very flat and there is a cool feel to the colouring but this is a fine flower study. |

Wow, this is a great study of this tiger and the photographer has done very well to virtually exclude any clue that this is in a wildlife park. Contrast is a bit high as is the brightness but I cannot fault the detail and colouring of this image. |

Festive Girls in Traditional Costume at Rochester Sweeps Festival |
This is a great memory of this group at the festival but it is obvious that they were posing for a few different cameras as they are all looking in different directions. The unlevel fraiming also indicates that this could have been a grab shot. Focussing and sharpness are good but if possible I would suggest in future asking the group for an exclusive pose. |
